Steve Bernardo is a Senior Vice President and Relationship Manager in Commercial Banking. His primary market is Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts, including the Cape & Islands. His clients are privately-owned companies, mostly with annual revenues $5 to $50 million. He leads a team of specialists focused on understanding each client’s unique needs to deliver strategic financial guidance and solutions. These solutions may include complex treasury management, investment of excess liquidity, corporate card programs, and all types of financing. He has been a National Pinnacle Award winner in multiple years which recognizes the top 2% of Relationship Managers across the country.Steve joined Bank of America in 1991 in the Washington DC market. Over his banking career, he has held various positions in client management and credit including in Chicago with Bank of America's asset-based lending group. He has been in his current position since 2006 helping mid-sized companies with their banking needs. Steve holds a B.S. degree in Finance and an M.B.A. from American University. He later earned a law degree from Roger Williams University School of Law, graduating in the top 10% of his class, and is a member of the Massachusetts Bar. Steve lives in his hometown of Bristol, RI with his wife Lisa.
To help create a more sustainable future for the companies and communities he serves, Steve volunteers as an advisor to business owners and CEOs through the Inner City Capital Connection. He volunteers reading to preschool children at a school serving a diverse, urban population in South Providence, RI, and also serves as a volunteer for Special Olympics of Massachusetts.
