Shveta Somalwar is a Senior Vice President & Market Team Lead for the Silicon Valley market in Commercial Banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. In this capacity, her responsibilities include leading a team of specialists focused on understanding each client’s unique needs to deliver strategic financial guidance and solutions. Shveta’s mission is to help local companies thrive by achieving their business goals, no matter how simple or how complex.

Bringing 18   years of experience,  Shveta joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch in 2007..She began her banking career at an affiliate company of Goldman Sachs in Mumbai and worked as Associate Vice President in the Debt Capital Markets. Throughout her banking career, Shveta has served large and mid-sized companies in Asia and the United States to support their commercial banking needs.

 
To help create a more sustainable future for the companies and communities she serves, Shveta volunteers with several not-for-profit organizations focused on providing health related services, most recently with Asian American Donor Program (AADP) and St Jude India Childcare Centers.  She also serves as a mentor for teammates across Bank of America Merrill Lynch and is a member of the Silicon Valley Employee Diversity and Inclusion Networks and the Pacific South West Leadership Council. She also mentors women entrepreneurs through the Vital Voices Organization and the Cherie Blair Foundation. 

Originally from Mumbai, India, Shveta graduated with a degree in Economics and Statistics followed by an MBA in Finance from Mumbai University.  She resides in the city of San Jose, California.
