Profile

Richard Clemens is a Senior Vice President and Senior Relationship Manager for the Connecticut market in commercial banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.  In this capacity, Rich leads a team of specialists focused on understanding each client’s unique needs to deliver strategic financial guidance and solutions.  These may include treasury management, international banking, trade finance, corporate credit cards, as well as all types of financing.  Rich’s goal is to help local mid-size companies grow and achieve their business goals, no matter how simple or complex.

Rich has 32 years of experience in financial services and banking and 10 years with Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Rich joined the bank in 2004 and then rejoined the bank in 2010 for his second tour. Rich spend his first 20 years working in NYC in a variety of sales and management positions, primarily with Citibank. He was a Market Manager/Division Manager for business banking and middle market banking in downtown Manhattan.  Rich moved to the Connecticut marketplace in 2005 when he assumed an Executive Vice President position in Fairfield County for a community bank with responsibility for all branches and brokerage operations, as well as commercial lending in lower Fairfield County.

Rich is an active supporter of local sports and volunteers as a coach for Babe Ruth baseball where he coached the 2017 team to the 18U State Championship.  Rich serves on the executive board of directors for Norwalk baseball.  He has previously volunteered and served on the board of directors for The Maritime Aquarium, Elderhouse, and the executive boards for Norwalk Chamber of Commerce and Stamford Chamber of Commerce.  Rich also does volunteer work for Saint Matthews Church in Norwalk.

Rich holds a BA degree in Political Science from Fairfield University, completed formal credit training program at Bank of New York, and is a previous holder of NASD Series 7/65 and Life/Health Insurance licenses.  Rich lives in Norwalk, CT with his wife Kristin and two boys, Richard III and Christopher.
