Paul Canelli is a Senior Vice President and Relationship Manager for the Connecticut market in Commercial Banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.  In this capacity, his responsibilities include leading a team of specialists focused on understanding each client’s unique needs to deliver strategic financial guidance and solutions.   Paul specializes in providing creative lending, cash management, and investment solutions to all types of local companies and non-profit entities, with an expertise in providing tax exempt bond financing to educational institutions.

Paul has over 35 years of banking experience, including 20 plus years at Bank of America and its predecessor banks.   His prior roles included various Senior Relationship Manager, Team Leader, and Credit Officer positions in both the Commercial and Non Profit Divisions, serving mid-size companies and non- profit entities throughout Connecticut. 

Paul has resided in Hamden, CT for over 35 years, and is a lifelong CT resident.  Paul graduated from Connecticut College in New London, CT, in 1979 with a BA in Biology/Zoology.  He completed the Commercial Credit Training Program at Connecticut Bank and Trust Company in 1981 and the Mortgage Lending Training Program at General Electric Credit Corporate in 1980.  Paul has served on boards and committees in a number of non-profit organizations in the community, including The New Haven Boys and Girls Club, The New Haven Boys and Girls Club Alumni Association, The New Haven Tap-Off Club, Spring Glen Church in Hamden, and is a student athlete mentor for the varsity basketball program at Fairfield University.  He also coached softball and basketball for The Hamden Father’s Recreation League for over 20 years.
