Lee Whitener is a Vice President and Senior Relationship Manager in the Triangle market in Global and Commercial Banking at Bank of America, NA. In this capacity, her responsibilities include leading a team of specialists focused on understanding each client’s unique needs to deliver strategic financial guidance and solutions. Lee’s mission is to help local companies thrive by achieving their business goals, no matter how simple or how complex. 

Bringing more than 18 years of experience, Lee joined Bank of America in 2015. She began her banking career at Citibank, N.A. where she was a Senior Vice President in Manhattan, New York. Throughout her banking career, Lee has served mid-sized companies to help support their commercial banking needs. Prior to her commercial banking career, Lee spent almost 8 years at Merrill Lynch as a Senior Financial Advisor helping high net worth individuals and companies meet or exceed their short and long-term goals.

To help create a more sustainable future for the communities she serves, Lee volunteers with several not-for-profit organizations focused on ending hunger, homelessness, and financial wellness education, most recently with Feeding America and the local Raleigh food bank. She also serves as a mentor for teammates across Bank of America and is a member in several employee networks. Her philosophy is to help others reach their fullest potential, so they can help others reach theirs.

Originally from Illinois, with summers spent in the Tarheel state, Lee graduated with a BS in Business Administration from Cornell University. Today she resides in Raleigh, North Carolina. In her free time, you can find Lee enjoying family and friends, volunteering in her community, traveling or playing a round of golf.
