Kirsten Soneson is a Vice President and Senior Relationship Manager for the Great Plains Market, Commercial Banking at Bank of America. In this capacity, her responsibilities include leading a team of specialists focused on understanding each client’s unique needs to deliver strategic financial guidance and solutions. These solutions include lending, treasury, equipment finance, and global advisory. Kirsten's overarching goal is to be a trusted partner for her clients, helping them to overcome obstacles, grow their companies, and achieve their business goals.Bringing more than a decade of diverse experience within banking, regulation, and finance, Kirsten's previous experience includes serving as director of corporate banking at First National Bank of Omaha where she covered publicly traded and large privately held companies. She also served as a senior associate for healthcare investment banking at BMO Capital Markets in New York City, where she provided advisory services for mergers and acquisitions and helped companies raise financing through debt and equity issuances. In addition, Kirsten acted as a financial economist for the Commodity Futures Trading Commission in Washington, D.C., where she provided economic research and advice for the derivative market regulator’s policies and rulemaking and for publication in academic journals.
Originally from rural Nebraska and where she continues to spend a significant amount of time, Kirsten earned her bachelor's degree in business administration, political science, and economics from Nebraska Wesleyan University. Additionally, she earned her MBA from Georgetown University with concentrations in finance and global business.
Kirsten has a passion for financial literacy education in youth and serves the local community in numerous capacities focused on this initiative, including as a board member of the Nebraska Council on Economic Education and as a mentor for Partnership 4 Kids and BUILD. Kirsten is on the advisory board for the CFO Leadership Council Omaha chapter facilitating meaningful discussions between local finance leaders. She is also a member of the industry group Women in Manufacturing, ACG, and Junior League of Omaha. Kirsten resides in Omaha, Nebraska, and is continuously looking for ways to make the area where she lives and raises her family thrive.
