John Williamson is a Senior Vice President and Relationship Manager for the Combined Coverage market in Commercial Banking at Bank of America.  In this capacity, his responsibilities include leading a team of specialists focused on understanding each client’s unique needs to deliver strategic financial guidance and solutions.  John’s mission is to help local companies thrive by achieving their business goals, no matter how simple or complex.

Bringing over thirty years of experience, John joined Bank of America in 2021.  He began his banking career in operations with a community bank in Boise Idaho and had increasing roles of responsibility in credit and commercial banking, culminating in being the Idaho market leader for commercial banking. In addition to his banking experience, John spent five years working in professional advising roles with innovative high-growth technology companies in roles with VentureCapital.Org, Boise State University, and Bonocore Technology Partners.  Throughout his career John has served companies of all sizes throughout the Intermountain Rockies to support their growth and commercial banking needs.     

John has a passion to help build strong business communities and throughout his career has served in many non-profit roles focused on economic development and growth of entrepreneurial ecosystems.  John has held positions on the executive councils of The Idaho Technology Council, the Boise Valley Economic Partnership, was an executive in residence at the College of Business and Economics at Boise State University, and was the founding board chair of the Mountainview High School of Business. In addition John has held leadership roles for the St. Alphonsus Foundation advisory board, the Greater Salvation Army advisory board of Salt Lake City, and served as tract chair of the pitch competition for Boise Entrepreneurship Week.  He has been recognized by the Idaho business review as an honoree of the Excellence in Finance Awards and was also recognized as a top ten person of influence for Idaho startups in the Idaho Power 25 People for Idaho StartUps.

Originally from Boise, Idaho, John graduated from Boise State University with a Bachelor of Arts in marketing and obtained both his MBA and a Masters of Finance degree from Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah.  John and his family now reside in Wichita, Kansas.
