Gary Occhipinti is a Senior Vice President and Senior Relationship Manager for the Long Island Market, at Bank of America. In this capacity, his responsibilities include leading a team of specialists focused on understanding each clients unique needs, in order to deliver strategic financial guidance and solutions.Gary is an award-winning business banking executive with exceptional national experience in lending, establishing relationships with clients and in leading teams to meet growth objectives. He is well-known for his analytical and negotiating abilities to create solutions for his clients, while controlling risk. His mission is to help his clients find ways to increase access to cash flow, maximize their profitability through enhancing efficiencies and streamlining their day to day banking needs.
Bringing over 20 years of experience, Gary joined Bank of America in 2022. He began his career in finance in 2003, where he worked both domestically and abroad. Gary transitioned his focus to banking at JPMorgan Chase, where he held a number of roles over the course of 10 years. For the next 6 years, he excelled as a Sr. Business Banking Manager with Capital One. Throughout his banking career, Gary has served mid-sized companies throughout the Tri-State area to support their commercial banking needs.
To help create a more sustainable future for the companies and communities he serves, Gary volunteers his time for not-for-profit organizations focused on bettering the community & helping business owners. Not only is Gary an Eagle Scout, he is also a board member for the Boy Scouts of America, Suffolk County Council. In this capacity, he advises on budgeting, forecasting & overall strategy. Gary is also a co-founder and board member for the Exit Planning Exchange, Long Island Chapter. Here he works w/ a team of professionals that volunteer their time to help private companies build business value, transfer ownership and create a legacy of success in their lives and their communities. Gary also mentors business students interested in Entrepreneurship & Finance from his Alma Mater.
Originally from East Meadow, NY, Gary graduated with a B.S. in Marketing with concentrations in Psychology & Leadership. He went on to then attain his M.B.A. in Global Business Leadership with a concentration in International Trade. Most recently, Gary has attained his certification in Diversity & Inclusion in the Workplace from the University of Pittsburgh and is a Council Member for Bank of America's Great Place to Work initiative. He is currently studying for his Financial Risk Management Certification through the Global Association of Risk Professionals and his Certified Exit Planning Advisor accreditation through the Exit Planning Institute. Gary resides in North Smithtown, NY with his wife and children.
