ProfileDerek Johnson is a Vice President and Relationship Manager for the Upstate NY (Buffalo) market in Business Banking at Bank of America. In this capacity, his responsibilities include leading a team of specialists focused on understanding each client’s unique needs to deliver strategic financial guidance and solutions. As a lifelong resident of Western New York, Derek’s mission is to help local companies thrive by achieving their business goals, no matter how simple or how complex.
Derek has over 13 years of banking experience in the Buffalo market. Prior to Bank of America, Derek served as a commercial relationship manager with two other financial institutions. Derek holds a Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprises from Syracuse University.
To help create a more sustainable future for the companies and communities he serves, Derek volunteers at several local not-for-profit organizations. He is focused on nurturing a strong economic environment in Western New York, most recently through his board participation at the Cheektowaga Economic Development Corporation and formerly through his board participation at the Hamburg Economic Development Corporation. Derek also spends time volunteering at the Mandala School in East Aurora, NY and coaching youth soccer through Lakeview Athletics.
Originally from Springville, NY, Derek now resides in Hamburg, NY.
