Profile

Azhar Iqbal is a Senior Vice President and Senior Relationship Manager for the Los Angeles market in Commercial Banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. In this capacity, his responsibilities include leading a team of specialists focused on understanding each client’s unique needs to deliver strategic financial guidance and solutions. Azhar's mission is to help local companies thrive by achieving their business goals, no matter how simple or how complex.

Bringing over 30 years of experience, Azhar joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch in 1988. He has also served as Consumer Market Manager in Orange County and Los Angeles areas at Bank of America. Throughout his banking career, Azhar has served mid-sized companies throughout the area to support their commercial banking needs.

To help create a more sustainable future for the companies and communities he serves, Azhar volunteers with several not-for-profit organizations focused on ending hunger and homelessness, most recently with Feeding America and local food banks. He also serves as a mentor for teammates across Bank of America Merrill Lynch as a member and leader in the Asian Leadership Network and Southern California Employee Network. In addition, Azhar is the charter member for TIE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) a largest non-profit entrepreneurial organization.

Originally from Pakistan, Azhar graduated with a degree in Business Administration in Accounting with an emphasis in Quality Management from California State University Dominguez Hills.  He resides in City of Cypress, California, Azhar is a member of Vernon Chamber of Commerce. In his leisure time, Azhar enjoys playing golf and travelling.
